E1027 presents two complete IFCO live shows: one from Honest Jon’s Records in 2012, the other from Flywheel in 2013. The material consists of the premier live versions of three pieces the band has been working on with Matt Krefting. Although certainly an avant garde project, IFCO remain committed to music. IFCO are not ‘sound art’ or ‘noise’. That is old news. This is new. Keyboards, synths, trumpet, and radio. A fine update of one of their current positions.
Background
Idea Fire Company was formed in 1988 by Scott Foust and Karla Borecky. In their 25 years of existence IFCO has released eleven LPs and a handful of singles and tapes. IFCO has always been more interested in quality over quantity and works to make sure that every release sounds different whilst having a hard-to-identify quality that makes it an IFCO LP. Besides releases on their own Swill Radio label, IFCO has released material on Kye, Ultra Eczema and Entr’acte, among others.
